Winter AdventureWorks Workshop! Classic Activities That Work

Brian Lisson and Matt Speer from Adventureworks Associates Inc. will share some of their favourite activities and tools for community building, team development and leadership training. They will share innovative approaches to some classic adventure games, initiatives, debriefing techniques, and team building activities. Participants can expect to learn simple yet effective strategies for adjusting the rules and parameters of activities to achieve specific and intentional learning outcomes. Tools and approaches for engaging participants in meaningful reflection will also be explored.

This workshop is ideal for teachers, outdoor educators, group facilitators, camp and youth development professionals.

Lunch is included and each participant will also receive a few team building props to take home.


About our workshop leaders

Brian Lisson has been actively involved in facilitating adventure experiences, building ropes courses and training adventure leaders for over thirty years. Working with a wide variety of clientele, he has facilitated programs for human service professionals, teachers, corporate teams, students, young offenders and therapy groups. Come and learn how he has adapted his catalogue of games and activities to fit the ever changing dynamics of groups and the needs of his participants.

Matt Speer is a full-time consultant with AdventureWorks, providing facilitation, training, installation, and inspection services to our clients. Having worked in camping for the past 9 years, most recently as the Director of Adventure Education at Camp Kintail he has developed many ideas and programs bringing new life to classic activities. During this workshop he will be sharing what he has found to best suit the current needs of students and participants.
