Meeting Your Professional Development Needs
Our professional development workshops are designed to meet the needs of teachers, camp staff, outdoor educators, youth workers, social workers, and other professionals who currently use or want to use adventure based learning in their work. These workshops use a train-the-trainer model that combines information about adventure based learning theory and research with hands-on opportunities to participate in the activities.
All of our Professional Development Workshops can be delivered to your staff at a suitable location of your choice or one of our conveniently located training sites. To meet the unique needs of your organization we are also pleased to tailor one of our existing workshops or create an entirely customised workshop. Some examples of our custom workshops include:
- Facilitating successful transition of students with behavioural issues to regular classrooms
- Processing skills and techniques for working with youth volunteers on international development projects
- Using adventure activities to build community between police officers and youth from at-risk environments
