Brian Lisson

Brian Lisson - President / Founder

Brian has been actively involved in facilitating adventure experiences, building ropes courses and training adventure leaders for over twenty five years. He has also been Camp Director at Canterbury Hills, a sessional lecturer at McMaster University, and Director of Professional Development Programs at Outward Bound Canada.

Brian has worked with a wide variety of clientele. He has facilitated programs for human service professionals, teachers, corporate teams, students, young offenders and therapy groups.

Brian has presented internationally at the Association for Experiential Education Conference and the Association for Challenge Course Technology (ACCT). He has presented locally at many professional organizations including OCA, BCCA, PRO, and COEO. Brian is currently a member of the Board of Directors of the Association for Challenge Course Technology and a member of the National Safety Committee of Outward Bound Canada.

Kathy Haras

Kathy Haras, Ph.D. - Vice President / Principal Consulant

Kathy is Vice President and Principal Consultant for Adventureworks! Associates Inc. She has been facilitating outdoor adventure experiences for over 15 years. Kathy has worked with a variety of clientele including; corporate management teams, people with disabilities, and Olympic athletes.

Kathy holds Bachelors degrees in Outdoor Recreation and Natural Science, a Masters Degree in Recreation Administration and a Ph.D. in Recreation, Park and Tourism Sciences from Texas A&M University. Kathy has taught at McMaster, Brock, and Lakehead Universities.

Kathy is a TSSA licensed ADMR-Zip Line Mechanic and an ACCT certified Inspector � Supervisor. Kathy is a member of the ACCT Design, Performance, and Inspection Standards Committee.

Shawn Stetson

Shawn Stetson - Vice President, Programs

Shawn is the Vice President, Programs at Adventureworks. He has been facilitating experiential and adventure-based programs for well over two decades. He has worked with a wide range of clientele including educators, students, corporate and professional teams, adjudicated and vulnerable youth, and recreation based programs. Shawn has extensive experience facilitating and managing challenge course programs. His experience direction and managing programs at Camp Maple Leaf, Camp Trillium, YMCA Cedar Glen, Trails Youth Initiatives, and Camp Quality, has involved training, developing, and supervising various staff teams.


Shawn is a graduate of Seneca College's Outdoor Recreation Technician and Algonquin College's Recreation Leadership programs, and he holds a Bachelor of Independent Students from the University of Waterloo. Shawn has also been a contributing member of the Mohawk College Program Advisory Committee and the Council of Outdoor Educators of Ontario's board of directors. He has presented internationally at both the Association for Experiential Education, and Association for Challenge Course Technology conferences.

Claire Leitch

Claire Leitch - Program Administrator

Claire has been working in the youth programs and education field for many years. She has worked in an administrative role at a number of camps, including Tamwood International College and the Tim Hortons Children's Foundation. In addition to working at camps, she worked in property management while living and exploring in British Columbia. Claire has been an ESL teacher in South Korea and also currently teaches kids yoga. She holds a degree in Visual Arts from Western University and a Tourism and Travel diploma from Fanshawe College.

Dave Drysdale

Dave Drysdale, P. Eng. - Director of Challenge Course Services

Dave is a professional engineer and an experienced project manager. He has successfully completed numerous large-scale construction projects in the industrial, commercial, and institutional (ICI) sector, working as a project manager, engineer, and designer for engineering consulting firms. He has also been involved in youth development and camp programming for over a decade, where he has developed his passion for adventure programming.

Dave graduated with distinction from the engineering and business dual-degree program at Western University and Ivey Business School. He holds a Bachelor's of Engineering Science in Mechanical Engineering, as well as an Honors Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration.

Jodie Fluit

Jodie Fluit, Hon. B.Kin. - Director of Programs and Expeditionary Learning

Jodie has worked as a facilitator and trainer at Adventureworks for over 10 years. Jodie is an experienced outdoor leader and has worked in a variety of experiential education programs. She has extensive experience facilitating and leading youth leadership development programs. Jodie has worked with young adults in various gap year type programs focused on service learning and exploring different outdoor pursuits. Jodie took the opportunity to work abroad for a year in Australia, primarily in the Northern Territory.

Jodie is a graduate of McMaster University with an Honours Bachelor of Kinesiology with an emphasis on the Outdoor and Adventure Education courses. When she is not at Adventureworks, you can often find her hiking or climbing locally or exploring new terrain for rock, ice or mountain trails.

Kristen Rapley

Kristen Rapley - Installer

Kristen has been with Adventureworks since 2017, beginning in the program department before transitioning to our installations team. Kristen got her start in outdoor education through the Prosago leadership program at Camp Medeba, where over the last 4 years she has worked as staff. Most recently, after a year in Australia, Kristen led Medeba's LIT program.

Mady Toth

Mady Toth, CHRP - Manager of Human Resources and Administration

Mady has been with Adventureworks since 2012 in a variety of capacities including time in both program facilitation, and challenge course installation services. She has previously worked as frontline program staff at Ontario Pioneer Camp, and in a senior staff role with Canterbury Hills Camp.

Mady has spent the last several years working with Human Resources departments for major corporations across Ontario including Target and Walmart Logistics, and has come back to lend these experiences to the Adventureworks team.

Mady has an Honours Bachelors Degree in Psychology from McMaster University, and a Post-Graduate Certificate from Mohawk College in Human Resources Management.

Mike Chrzaszcz

Mike Chrzaszcz - Trainer / Installer

Joining Adventureworks in 2018, Mike brings a wide range of experiences along with a love for getting off the ground, and a passion for the natural world.

As a Mohawk College Recreation and Leisure Services Graduate, he carries an all-season portfolio of outdoor and adventure programming, which started at the Kawartha Outdoor Education Centre. Mike has a background of working at heights, including a position as Telecommunications Technician.

Mike's goal is to become a Challenge Course Professional, and offer the full range of Installation, Inspection, Training, and Program services.

Nick Owen

Nick Owen, MBA - Senior Consultant / Lead Installer

Nick Owen joined Adventureworks in 2009 with a passion for facilitation and love of the great outdoors. In addition to his roles as Lead Installer and Project Manager, Nick is a highly qualified Challenge Course Professional delivering our full gamut of Installation, Inspection, Training, and Program services.

Nick's professional background includes experiences in academia, the public sector, management consulting, and entrepreneurship. His breadth of expertise and knowhow provide exceptional value for our clients.

Nick is a three-time alum of McMaster University holding an Honours Degree in Sociology (Minor in Labour Studies), a Diploma in HR Management, and a Masters in Business Administration.

Vanessa Buchan

Vanessa Buchan - Challenge Course Services Administrator

Vanessa recently moved back to Ontario after living in Salt Lake City, Utah for the last 7 years. There she worked for Backroads, a cycling, hiking, multi-adventure travel company. Prior to that she found herself working in hospitality both close to home as well as exploring Southern Alberta and Alaska. Vanessa received an Honours Bachelor Degree in Outdoor Recreation as well as Geography from Lakehead University where she spent her summers leading canoe trips at camps.
