Climbing Wall
Facilitator (20 hours)
This course is ideal for schools, camps, and recreation centres who use
climbing walls as part of their adventure based program. Course content
includes knots, harnessing, belaying, climbing wall operations as well
as an overview of the adventure program model, activity sequencing, and
facilitation skills. Lead/sport climbing is NOT included in this course.
Successful completion of this course and testing leads to certification
as a Level One Challenge Course Practitioner (High Only) to ACCT
standards. Minimum age is 18.
Climbing Wall
Supervisor (24 hours)
This 24 course is ideal for individuals with leadership responsibilities
for indoor or outdoor climbing wall programs. Participants will learn
alternative belay techniques, rappelling, ascending and rescues. An
additional focus is placed on facilitating and leading climbing
activities. Lead/sport climbing is NOT included in this course.
Successful completion of this course and testing leads to certification
as a Level Two Challenge Course Practitioner (High Only) to ACCT
standards. Current Level 1 Certificate & 50 hours experience required.
